Inikori Dance Studio was founded by and is under the directorship of Jonah Inikori. Inikori Dance Studio offers instruction in both club and ballroom styles of dance. We offer classes for youth and all ages of adults. Dance styles include Salsa, Cha Cha, Tango, Waltz, Rumba, Mambo, Swing, Fox Trot, Merengue, Bachata, and Samba. The
atmosphere at our studio is a warm and friendly one, encouraging social
interaction and a family feel amongst our students, and between students
and staff. We provide private and group lesson instruction. We also host
several events at our studio and around town to provide dance and social
opportunities for our students, friends, and the general public. We are extremely well known for getting the first time dancer to feel comfortable and confident.

Jonah Inikori, owner and director of Inikori Dance Studio, has become a well recognized dancer, instructor, performer, and choreographer, not only in Rochester, but nationally and internationally. Jonah has developed a unique style of dance that is recognized for it's smoothness with strong accents, showy artistic expression, and technical detail. Jonah has traveled the United States extensively dancing, teaching and performing, in cities such as Los Angeles CA, San Francisco CA, Toronto Canada, Detroit MI, New York NY, Boston MA, Miami FL, Cleveland OH, Atlanta GA, Syracuse NY, Binghamton NY, Ithaca NY, to mention a few. Jonah Inikori is Rochester's ONLY internationally recognized latin dance teacher and performer.

Today, Inikori Dance Studio’s mission and goal is to cultivate dance as a social outlet, extracurricular activity, and hobby; a form of exercise, a means of attaining and maintaining health and wellness; and as an art form. With youth, a key part of our intent is character development, using dance as a medium to teach life's key virtues of respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, fairness, caring and citizenship, as well as improving social skills.

Inikori Dance Studio also features performance dance teams, which are trained in the art of dance and performance, and perform nationally and internationally.

Inikori Dance Studio produces the well acclaimed "Rochester Salsa Weekend", an event that features the art of Latin dancing, presenting dance artists from around the world, and attended by dancers from all over the country and abroad.

In the 2007-2008 academic year, Inikori Dance Studio was contracted by Penfield High School to teach a day of workshops in dance; Hillside Children's Center for a 12 week session, to help in the overall therapy of the kids in their program.

In the 2006-2007 academic year, Inikori Dance Studio was contracted by the Rochester After School Academy (RASA) at Frederick Douglass Preparatory Middle School to teach dance to students with academic needs and at-risk students; The Rochester After School Academy (RASA) at School #2 Rochester NY, to teach dance to kids ages 6 through 10; Honeoye Central School for a one day dance workshop for middle school and high school kids; Right On School Summer Camp for a 6 week dance workshop for kids ages 9 to 12; Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection for a two day dance workshop as part of their Art/Drama Summer Academy for kids ages 12 through 16.
